Nilesh is a part-time member of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister. He is a member of the Board of the Association of Mutual Funds in India and a Member of the COBOSAC committee of SEBI.

Nilesh is also President of India's oldest Chamber of Commerce viz. Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the city of Mumbai.
